The history of math studio.
Our program is based on more than 20 years of teaching
experience during which time we have synthesized the best of Russian,
American, and European logical and thinking developmental programs.
The years of our studio's experience have demonstrated that the
classes show positive results for children who like and understand
math as well as for those children who are more inclined to humanities
and who used to regard math as a rather boring, dry, and difficult
discipline. We will try to develop the full potential of your student.
Our studio in Brookline, MA opened 4 years ago.
The founders and teachers
of mathematics studio.
Larisa Itina
- Founder and Educational Director of the Studio. Mrs. Itina has
over 20 years in experience of teaching mathematics to children
of different ages - from kindergarten to high school. She developed
and perfected the unique methodology used in our studio. She organized
and taught classes for mathematics teachers and parents, so that
they can use this methods themselves. This method was tested over
the years and approved in many schools in Russia and other countries
of the former Soviet Union. It was accepted by the Ministry of Education
of Russia as "recommended for elementary schools".
She is author and co-author of many mathematical textbooks
primarily for elementary and middle schools. These books can be
ordered on www.ozon.ru(Russian Internet bookstore). Unfortunately, those books
are available only in Russian.
Her textbooks won several contests and were awarded the prize for
"Best Mathematics Textbooks for the Elementary Schools of the
New Generation".
